Understand what is behind the number.

Formula and worked example

Monthly rate = (1 + annual return ÷ 100)^(1/12) − 1. Each month: new value = previous value × (1 + monthly rate) + contribution.

₹5,000 at the end of each month for 10 years, with a 12% effective annual return assumption, gives ₹6,00,000 contributed and approximately ₹11,09,650 in modelled value.

Limits, assumptions and sources
